eternal sunshine.

iTunes is spinning: maggie de shanning -"what the world needs now"

"models are just skinny stick figures with poofy lips" -edna modes (from the incredibles movie.)

so. last night was the 77th academy awards. and for the first time in many many many years, i sat through the whole hotdamn thing, from the red carpet to the best picture award presentation. i don't think i've ever sat through a whole oscars night as most of the times it gets to be a little tedious and well. just down right boring. after all the glamour and bulbs flashing on the 'red' carpet i usually get bored and retire to catch up on the highlights in the next days news. but last night, after sitting through a good half of the awards, it became out of spite that i sat there through the end. my favourite part of the whole 77th academy awards was the presentation of the costume/fashion category, presented by pierce brosnan hacking up a lung and ms edna modes, one of the animated characters from the incredibles. she was my favourite in the movie, she reminded me of a cartoon version of anna sui. the red carpet shabamm was really dissapointing. there were a few eye catching dresses. my top three picks are these:
sandra oh in michael kors, charlize theoron in dior and gwyneth paltrow in stella mccartney.

and well, the not so surprisingly bad choice of attire was that of hilary swank, her pick of this dark dark ensemble of guy laroche definitely earned a ick and a yuck from me.

biggest dissapointment was miss scarlet johannson. who usually looks immaculate and classy. last night, her hair looked like she just ran through the car wash and had forgotten to fix it and her dress was a little cinching to the point where i felt guilty to be able to breathe, whilst looking at her not being able to breathe. but other than the hair and the dress, she still looked pretty.

i'm definitely glad miss zhang zi yi decided to learn a little bit of english since a few years back when she graced the oscars for her crouching tiger performance. although, i still couldn't really understand a word she said. it's okay. she's there to look pretty...hmm sounds like a familiar role.

and the jenny award for choice hottie of the night goes to miss natalie portman in a tulle creation by lanvin. this dress in which she looked flawless and just absolutely adorable. i'd do her.

it's twelve twenty eight: and tomorrow i shall awake to find many many postings of jenny fashion faux pas from angry celebrities. hee.
