never a new beginning.
iTunes is spinning: room eleven -"bitch"so, it's been a while. to say the least. but here's a rundown of what's happened in the last little bit.
on work: it's been going well, still on top, and awaiting that promo annnnny day now! which i'm excited for. it's still making me spend money on pretty clothes that well i really don't need. the boy doesn't appreciate it, but he keeps me in check for the most part. some days are more stressful than others, but i'm just hoping the step up is a good one.
on the itty bitties: they're growing up, well not really, either we have runt cats, or we just starve them...maybe a little bit of both, considering that yes, we do feed them adult cat food, even though they're technically still 'kittins' till they reach about a year and to put some cream on the cake, it's 'lean' adult food. haha i like it, i want them to stay tiny forever. the boycat is still the boy's favourite and onicakes is still mine, although she's been warming up to her daddycakes, she likes to have snuggle sessions with him during the day while i'm at work. she has these intense fangs that she likes to grate across your face as a sign of affection early in the mornings...especially when she wants food. and the boy still hasn't grown out of his quacking but he's still as dumb and dopey for feet nuggles as before. i'm glad that we have them.
on the homefront: the new house is doing well aside from a few kinks (not working oven, no screen door, no ventilation...anywhere) but the bigger space is definitely a treat from the old place. and the backyard has been delightful saving us money with allowing us to bbq most days and i'm even almost warming up to the sketchy, drunken, slumming neighbours that live in the other units... well almost. i just pretend that they are actually respectable working professionals.....that sometimes have domestic disputes that bring the cops on by or have big bonfires in the backyard at 3am. anyone still want to come by and visit!? at least the place is....mostly done. the kitchen is all set up, the bathroom is all set up, the living is all set up and the bedroom, well it's almost all set up.....see that was my one job...and of course it's still not completely done. secretly, i'm prolonging the process because i enjoy watching iron chef at midnight followed by sleepily watching CSI: miami at one, it's always a struggle as i get so engrossed in the episode that i want to last the hour to see how they forensically solve the crime....but yet the fatigue always takes over and i'm left wondering in the morning how it all went down.
on the birthday month: the month of june started with me reminding the boy that my birthday was fast approaching, then we had a big bbq party on the sunday to celebrate as well as housewarm our house with our friends meaning that they all had to bring booze, however the rain did keep a lot of people way, i was ok with it as the people that mattered or that i really cared to see showed up. and that's what counts. the sixth, the big special day was spent exclusively with the boy, we started out the day with me sneeping in until noontime and then we hit up the brasserie for some good ol' calamari (wasn't as good as normal) but still work it and then came the shopping around town. i think it's the only day he'll tolerate shopping with me for four hours all around the shops. goal was to find me some birthday sandals, and after a strenous search, i came up empty handed and have my eye on some mocassin booties instead. taking the boy shopping actually saves money, i still get to browse and satisfy my eye cravings, but he's there to stop me from buying "something i don't need", "something that's ugly" (even though he still bought me an ugly puke green tank top because i found it beautiful), "something that's too expensive", or really anything at all. but at least i got to go shopping! and we still made a trip to eb games to find burnout for the xbox for which we proceeded to go home to play and i handed his smashed up car served on a golden platter. i rule at burnout! nightfall came with a delightful and romantic dinner in the distillery district at pure spirits where the boy works. it was all around fantastic, we had oysters, pork rillet, salmon and scallops, tuna!!! and of course birthday dessert all accompanied by pometinis and vino!!! needless to say, i was spolied. now that the birthday day has ended, and birthday week has come to a close, all we have left to look forward to is birthday month!!!! and i leave you with some snippits of my birfday date with the boy i love.
it's one on two am: and CSI: miami has begun!

why oh why not.
iTunes is spinning: gym class heroes -"cupid's chokehold"so, it's official, we've finally found a new place to move into that fit all but well i guess one of our requirements.
1. it's in the annex (bloor-bathurst/spadina-esque area for those who don't know)
2. has outdoor space, a HUGE backyard for beebs and suntanning sessions!
3. one bedroom, and able to install an a/c unit.
i'm so excited to move in! we'll have it for may which means that i'll most likely be throwing my june birthday bash at the new place weather permitting with a huge housewarming beebeeque! it's going to be so nice moving back to a place that consist of more than just one room the size of 'this' table.
the weather has been so nice in toronto lately, i've managed to squeeze a few patio sessions in on those rare days i got let off early from work and last weekend. but today the showers finally hit. the boy and i had lunch at butler's pantry down the street where we nabbed the window seat in the fairly empty place and became a captive audience to the rain come pouring down and the car being towed across the street. for once, we both polished off our dishes and pints of course, albeit the serving portions were on the smaller side of the norm, but we weren't complaining, because this left room for dessert. a rarity in most cases as i'm usually too full. then the boy had to jet off to work braving the rain and rush hour traffic to head to work. i came home to the itty bitties.
speaking of, the itty bitties have seem to caught some sort of a virus while at the vet (getting neutered and spayed) last week, they came home with a wheezing cough that did not sound healthy at all, not eating and pooing ickyness. another visit to the vet they came home armed with a week's worth of antibiotics. while the cough has subsided and they've gotten their appetities back, the pooing ickyness still goes on. great.
tomorrow i am going to buy myself some wellies. green ones i hope.
it's ten four nine pm: and it's time to snuggle into an empty bed with a book and some kitties keeping it warm.
Labels: annex, itty bitty kitty committee, wellies.
what may come.
iTunes is spinning: donna summers -"hot stuff"so, after just a few mere weeks working, i've officially become the number one seller in the east for my company. woo go me, sr. sales position here i come. i hope. i could really use the extra perks. extra being extra cashola and a bigger discount. not that i need to shop anymore... (baby i'm not shopping!!!). in other news, i went to look a pretty one bedroom last night with a HUGE patio on the urging of russ. it was a little out of our price range in terms of what we could really afford or want to pay to rent. but this place has charm and it's so pretty. top floor of the house, cute bay window, two big closets (baby, you can have half of one!) and of course this patio, which was really what justifies it for us, especially for the summer. bbeebs and tanning parties. mmm can't wait. now all we have to do is get it! i was first to hand in my application (yay a week of being firsts!) so hopefully he does abide by the first come first serve rule. and then as of june first, we'll no longer be living in a place "the size of this table"........but all in due time, the hot water in our little apartment has been on the fritz lately, and after two weeks of saying "maybe it's just because someone used it all up" i emailed the landlord to which he figured out one of the tanks was finished. so now we just have sprint showers because the warm water only lasts for about 5 minutes.
the past few nights have been sleepless, as miss oni cakes has been frightful. she just mews and meows at the top of her bitty lungs for no good reason at all, and running all around and jumping up and down from the loft bed annoying us all in the process. no wonder onikoroshi means demon slayer and thus the name of a fierce sake, i now know why, but me thinks she might be in heat! hah. our little girl is growing up, good thing her and shogi gets chopped and tied or whatever they do on monday! thank god. i still love the little brattycakes, she takes after me, a girl just needs a good whine once in a while.
it's eleven four on am: and this weather is miserable, didn't i tell you that toronto was a tease with all that nice weather we had...tsk tsk.
Labels: a week of firsts, new place, oni cakes
with all my non love.
iTunes is spinning: en vogue -"free your mind"so last night i went to the movies and a favourite activity is to scope out the new trailers in anticipation of what 'great' movies would be in the upcoming months. and this one caught my mind, it's a movie called
across the universe (click to see a trailer). what i usually avoid is movie musicals, moulin rouge i've never watched, chicago i've attempted to watch a few times but always fell asleep quarter way in, phantom of the opera was ok, i guess when i watch a movie musical it's not so much that i mind the musical talent, but i hate that they have to sing out every conversation. regardless, this movie looks enticing and i can't wait for the fall to arrive (but not before i soak up some much much much desperation of sunray in the summer).
today, we went to drop off the car where we bought it to have it throughly inspected to see what the few kinks were. so after chilling at sherway gardens for a good chunk of time, lunch date in the foodcourt, browing books at the chapters, a stop at walmart, walking across highway overpasses and lots of adult video stores...the boy and i finally found a pub in between that and the car place. it was actually a pub/indian restaurant, still very much so authentic in it's decorative spacing and beer choices, but i have to admit the smell of curry and spices in the air had my mouth watering enough to decide to return to etobicoke sometime later on in life to try their indian dishes. however, we did snack on some of the best samosas i've had in...well forever! but the consensus between him and i are that one walking tour of etobicoke is enough in a lifetime.
on a happy note, i bought myself some sexy new darts. having always used what the boy had, i finally own a set of my very own, black, pink and finished off with an english rose flight. and to break them in of course we had to visit another pub (but back in the much much better for a walking tour, downtown toronto). having pretty darts sure make me play better.
it's one five five am: and for a day off, i sure did a lot of strenuous walking.

iTunes is spinning: natasha bedingfield -"i bruise easily"so, what was suppose to be a fun saturday night out with the girls on a token saturday day off from work has fallen flat due to an impromptu case of a burnt tongue which leaves me in pain, speechless (literally as it hurts to talk) and hungry. the only thing i ate today was this cute little carton of strawberry icecream.
good thing they came in small packages at the local convenience store otherwise i would've been scarfing down a full sized carton....
top three wants
1. Primark, a low-end retail shop in the uk. i just had a glimpse of some of their pieces in the debut issue of online magaziner,
Amour.2. Wish i worked at free people at their office in philly, check out
FP's blog.3. Hopefully the weather warms up soon enough that skirts and dresses sans tights or leggings can come out and play so then i can showcase my new moccasin boot purchase fully approved by the boy over uggs. that and i couldn't bring myself to spend double the amount on a pair of uggs here when i know for a fact they don't cost that much in our neighboring contry.
it's eight four four pm: and the gent below me holds band practices in his bachelor sized apartment.
building up.
iTunes is spinning: amy winehouse -"rehab"so, it's been two weeks since i started at artizia, and even though i feel old (where as i normally feel pretty young around my old man) most of the girls i work with are still in school (both college AND highschool) so as you can imagine there are some young'uns. though most people at work think i'm twenty ^_^ it's tiring being on your feet and shuffling around constantly running and walking for eight hours straight. but i must say i genuinely enjoy picking out the perfect item for someone. it's some sort of a reward when they walk out satisfied...even if it means trying on fifteen pairs of jeans before they find the one that fits great. and at three hundred bucks a pop i always urge them to try more on until they feel fabolous and comfortable at the same time. incentives at work include being able to buy a pricey pair of designer denims for 50% off. i've got my eye on a couple, and today i sold the one pair of rocks with crystals on the bum in my size to a girl who really really really really wanted them, even though they didn't even fit her quite right. kudos to that kind of "i want i need" that leads you to spend three hundred dollars on an ill fitting pair of jeans.
in other news, after working for seven days straight, the boy and i finally have our weekend off together, and even though he doesn't want to walk around "cute streets with shops" or "flea marketing" i'll settle for reading books (for him), magazines (for me) and crosswording together at a pub, while we do our laundry two doors away.
what i did last birthday:
it's eleven two seven pm: amd after a tease of nice weather (to be expected from ficklesome toronto) the chill has come back to town. but i still secretly hope it'll be springish weather for the weekend.

when you think no one is looking, the whole world is staring.
iTunes is spinning: blackalicious -"blazing arrow"so,
anya hindmarch has come up with a cute concept
the "i'm not a plastic bag" bag. it's adorable, it's witty, it's cheap for a coveted trend piece, just £5.00. now if that were true, ebay has them selling for over 150 dollars. it's kind of an irony, in terms of the message this bag is trying to achieve, but yet again society and consumerism has prevailed once again. but i'm not one to judge, i'm a victim of consumerism. still it's cute, if anyone is in the land of pounds, i'd love to receive one.
in other news, it took me thirty minutes each way, for a total of one hour to travel from the bathurst subway station to sherbourne...what should have been a direct route with no train changing turned out to be a nightmare with the underground construction they are doing to the bay station, which resulted in all the trains heading north-east-south-west to be rerouted to museum for interchanges....when normally would require no interchanges as all (the east-west line). the perk was that because the train couldn't travel into the under construction bay tunnel, we got to see the old bay station, which was last in use in 1966 and is not used for training purposes and movie sets. it was eerie to see a station so empty and defaced, it was the ttc tour which lasted for a couple of seconds. but on the 'up' side, this derailment to your daily ttc routes only happens on the weekends so the bay street go-ers won't have to change their work schedule, and the tourists get to put up with the confusion on the weekend.
oh, and i got bum grazed by some dirty man twice while waiting at the interchange for another east bound train when i was already going eat....first time i thought it was a mistake, second time i almost socked him, if it weren't for the billions of spectators hoarding around. so instead i chose to stand in front of a very large looming man, so if bum grazing man had the balls to bum graze again he'd have to goodie graze this very large looming man's package as well. i dont' give him so much huztpah.
tomorrow i officially start my first day of work. don't ask me how it goes, i already know how it'll go.
it's eight o six pm: and was it ever windy outside today.
